Hart County Court Dockets
A docket is the court's activity log. In a Hart County case, docket information can show filing dates, hearing settings, motions, orders, notices, arraignment events, pleas, dispositions, and other entries that mark the progress of a case. A calendar is related but narrower. It tells users when a court session, hearing, jury trial, arraignment, or other proceeding is scheduled. A full case file contains the documents behind those events.
Hart County dockets are split across courts. Superior Court is the main trial court for felony criminal cases, major civil cases, divorce, custody, TPO, and child-support files. Magistrate Court handles civil claims up to $15,000, dispossessory matters, garnishments, first appearances, warrants, pre-warrant hearings, and bond hearings. Probate Court handles estates, guardianships, marriage and vital records, firearm permits, mental-evaluation orders, and some traffic matters. City ordinance or citation calendars may be municipal rather than county Superior Court dockets.
- Docket
- The chronological list of case events, filings, hearings, orders, and outcomes.
- Calendar
- A schedule of court sessions or hearings for a date or term.
- Disposition
- The outcome of a case, count, motion, or charge.
Find Hart County Dockets
The most direct official calendar source found in the research is the clerk's Hart County court calendars page, which publishes upcoming court calendars and includes a 2026 Superior Court calendar link. The broader Superior Court case path is the ICON case search login. ICON is not an open anonymous docket search in the inspected public view; it displays a login screen and the research notes yearly subscription access through the clerk.
When the calendar page does not answer the question, use the court office tied to the matter. The Clerk of Superior Court can help with Superior Court docket entries and case files. Magistrate Court should be contacted for small claims, dispossessory, warrant, first appearance, and bond hearing dockets. Probate Court should be contacted for estate, guardianship, marriage, traffic, and mental-evaluation court activity.
- Start with the court calendar if the question is about an upcoming Superior Court date.
- Use ICON only if subscription/login access is available through the Clerk of Superior Court.
- Have the case number, party name, attorney name, or approximate date ready before calling.
- For lower-court matters, contact Magistrate Court or Probate Court directly rather than searching the Superior Court calendar.
- For a certified order, judgment, or filed document, request the full case record from the proper custodian.
The Hart County Superior Court page identifies the Northern Judicial Circuit and lists the judges who travel to Hart, Elbert, Franklin, Madison, and Oglethorpe counties for civil and criminal hearings and trials.
The circuit structure explains why a hearing calendar may reflect judge assignments and travel schedules rather than a single courthouse-only docket.
Hart County Docket Entries
The research did not locate a public sample docket entry from ICON because access is login-gated. Still, the clerk and court research identifies the fields users should expect in a Hart County docket or case activity record. Criminal cases may include accusations or indictments, motions, pleas, bond orders, hearing dates, dispositions, and sentencing entries. Civil cases may include complaints, answers, motions, orders, judgments, garnishments, appeals, and domestic-relations filings.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Entry Date | The date the filing, order, notice, hearing, or other docket event was entered. |

Hart County Docket Sources
Not every Hart County court publishes docket information the same way. Superior Court has the strongest calendar path through the clerk's calendar page and the ICON case system. Magistrate Court and Probate Court pages do not publish public case-search portals in the research, so direct contact is the reliable path for those dockets. Municipal citation or ordinance cases may remain with the city court or city hall.

Docket vs. Case Record
A Hart County court docket can show that an order was entered, a motion was filed, a hearing was set, or a case was disposed. It may not show the full text of the motion, the evidence, the final decree, or every sealed exhibit. A full case record is the better source when a user needs a certified judgment, a sentencing order, a divorce decree, a TPO document, or a complete motion and order history.
| Docket or Calendar | Full Case Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | List of events or scheduled court dates. | Filed pleadings, orders, notices, judgments, and document images or copies. |
| Access | May be posted as a calendar or visible through login access. | May require clerk request, subscription, copy fee, or in-person review. |
| Best Use | Tracking case progress or upcoming court dates. | Proving an outcome, reviewing filings, or obtaining certified copies. |
| Limits | May omit restricted details, document text, or older records. | May include redactions or sealed items not available to the public. |
For all case-file categories, Hart County court records provide the broader search path and public-access framework.
Read Hart County Dockets
Start with the court name, then read entries in date order. In a criminal case, early entries may show an accusation, indictment, warrant return, first appearance, bond order, arraignment, plea, or motion. Later entries may show a hearing, verdict, nolle prosequi, dismissal, sentence, probation condition, or disposition. A charge listed in a docket is not the same as a conviction unless the record also shows a guilty plea, verdict, or other conviction disposition.
In a civil case, docket entries may show the complaint, answer, service, motions, hearing notices, orders, judgment, garnishment events, or appeal. Domestic-relations entries can include divorce, custody, child support, and protective-order activity, but access may be redacted or limited when minor-child, protected-person, or sensitive personal information appears. Probate docket details can also be limited for guardianship, mental-health, or protected personal data.
Older Hart County docket questions may require more than one search path. The county has a long courthouse and records history, and the research points to Kofile historic land index books for 1856-1989 land index research rather than modern civil or criminal dockets. Court calendars answer date and setting questions, but older filed orders, judgments, divorce papers, or criminal dispositions should be requested from the custodian that holds the case file. For Superior Court, that is the Clerk of Superior Court. For Probate Court, it is the Probate Court. For Magistrate Court, the court office should be contacted directly because no public Magistrate docket portal was located.
Note: Absence from a posted calendar does not prove that no case exists; contact the court custodian for file searches.
